Princess Katelyn (Link to Speedart Below!)

Okay, who isn’t in love with A Royal Tale? As per usual with Aphmau’s content, we have the same cast as her other series, but with a whole new light on them! We get a mixture of fairy tales, mythology, and Disney movies! Of course there are a few issues here and there (I particularly have an issue with Aphmau being a little too confidant and border line Mary-sue in her personality). And my personal favorite, THE NEW SKINS! I’m in love with all the different dressed and you can tell that BluJay studious wanted each dress to come from a different culture.

I decided to draw Aphmau first as a nice practice for my simplistic, cartoon style. I based the dress on her skin as best as a I could and took more inspiration from traditional Mexican dresses, since Jess has Mexican heritage. I also noticed that Aphmau’s eyes are a bit redder than her normal caramel, maybe a hint that she isn’t so innocent?

Conspiracy theories aside, I’m really excited for the new series and will be releasing a selection of drawings from the main characters. For the drawings, I will be continuing this cartoon style. I love the thicker lines and the light amount of gradients I’m including. The eyes are also a part that I love the draw. Each character has their own unique eye shade and it’s so fun to design how to portray the personality of a character through their eye shape!

But gosh! I’m so excited! I think my favorite group in the series is Aaron’s group. The idea of Lucinda and Sasha working together just get’s me so excited! Our little babies will get the screen time they deserve!
